What is the difference between because of and due to?

W teorii, "due to" powinno używać się tylko po czasowniku "be", a "because of" po innych czasownikach:

"The rising price of petrol is due to..." vs. "The petrol price is rising because of..."

W praktyce, większość ludzi nie przejmuje się zasadami i stosuje obu form zamiennie.

"He had to stop playing football due to a knee injury."

"He had to stop playing football because of a knee injury."

Dodatkowo, "due to" jest uznawane za bardziej formalne.
