Podaje przykłady zdań żeby uniknąć nieporozumień. Zaznaczam ze rozumiem te zdania, ale nigdy nie użyłabym 'be' gdybym sama miała je przetłumaczyc i to mnie intryguje.
1. 'You must be making this up'. 2.' I shouldn't be telling you that'. 3. If I had read the documentation I wouldn't be having that problem.

Niech nie zmyli Cię obecność modala w podanych zdaniach - "be" jest tutaj użyte dlatego, że są to zdania w czasach continuous.

'modals of possibility and probability' bo chyba tak należy nazwać te konstrukcję subject + appropriate modal + be + ing.
