The chart below describes results of a public opinion poll, where people were asked to name the most important place smoking should be banned from. Write a report for a university tutor describing the information shown. (at least 150 words)
The graph below shows percentage of places where interviewees decided that smoking should be forbidden.
It can be clearly seen that smoking in work places (21%) is annoying people mostly. Another two categories, restaurants and shopping malls are followed very closely with only 19% and 18%, respectively. According to the results from this survey 13 percent interviewees don’t like smoking on beaches and 11 percent of asked people think that smoking in public transport should be not allowed. Looking at the figures we can see that teachers lounges and bus stops in 7% and 8%, respectively are another places where smoking could be very irritating. Pubs is the last category with only 3 percent where people thought smoking should be banned.
In conclusion, even if most people don’t mind smoking in pubs or in the open air spaces, would like to have public places free from cigarette smoke.
