Jaka jest różnica pomiędzy "help to do sth / help do sth" ?

zmodyfikowany: 12 lat temuostatnia aktywność: 12 lat temu

zdanie oryginalne:
If we can help people understand the basic facts we can have a serious debate.

do tej pory myślałam, że powinno używać się help to do sth, czyli byłoby:
"can help people to understand..."

a tu takie użycie, czy ktoś potrafi mi to łopatologicznie wytłumaczyć? :)

rozumiem, że słówko "help" to taki wyjątek, czyli można na 2 sposoby - ale czy zawsze i do każdej sytuacji, czy może od czegoś to zależy?
